Not everything is connected. We had a large database update over the weekend. Upon arriving to work on Monday morning we learned that the Canada data centre was down and that technicians were working on fixing the issue.
People in the office started to blame the update for every issue they encountered, from spelling mistakes on letters, phone mishaps, coffee machine overflowing. I know that technology is scary, but not everything is connected. An update run on a server can cause an issue on that server, but it can’t make it rain or mess with your car.
I can’t believe I passed my entire day, explaining that this issue didn’t have anything to do with the other issue.
