We don’t have to give a damn about our reputation. What people say behind our back shouldn’t affect our behaviour or our choices. All human being should do what they want to do as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. There shouldn’t be any rules about what you are allowed to do depending on your age, class, cultural and racial background, or religion for that matter of fact.
There are too many invented barriers that keep us from achieving our potential or make us feel bad for being a bit “wild” or “improper” or “different”. Wear what makes you feel beautiful, get the tattoo or the hair colour you always secretly wanted, go after the career you really wanted, go bungee jumping or travel alone regardless of people’s opinion.
We don’t have to please no one. Even as a spouse or a parent, our lives don’t belong to others. We live with the people with love and share our lives, but we must remember that we are giving that life away for another to run.
Life is too short to live someone else idea of a good life and worrying about what our reputation will be. Be true to yourself. Do what makes you happy. Do what awakes passion within you.
