Maple Syrup!

Canada produces 71% of the world’s pure maple syrup, 91% of which is produced in Quebec.  In 2015 alone, the 10,847 maple farms found in Canada produced 8,908 gallons of maple syrup.

The country’s Amerindian peoples (that’s my ancestry) taught the early settlers how to harvest sap and boil it to make maple syrup.

MapleOne of my best childhood memories was going to the forest to fetch our own maple syrup directly from the trees whenever we felt like it and cooking it on the stove to make all kinds of goodies.
