The same way you will never know what someone is dealing behind close doors. You should show yourself some compassion for what you are dealing behind your close doors.
No matter how happy you may look in the mirror. No matter how loud you laugh or how big your smile is. It’s doesn’t matter if you are berating yourself and causing yourself hurt that is indescribable. So be kind with yourself. Show yourself some compassion.
Shame, self-blame, and guilt are all too common in the aftermath of trauma and they can last a lifetime. Showing yourself some compassion, love and kindness can allow you to reconnect with parts of yourself that have been wounded, at their own pace.
