Let the sunshine in. I’ve been struggling with depression lately and I know one of the reason is the constant grey and rainy weather. Although I love to snuggle up with a book and hearing the rain, too much darkness tends to weigh down on me.
Making sure to open the blinds in my living room and my bedroom to let sunshine in on beautiful days even though my depression is telling me to keep them closed helps me feel better. Letting the sunshine in helps me not feel quite so caged in, even on days when I do not actually leave my house because of my depression or chronic illnesses. I spend the bulk of my day in my living room typing on my laptop, so having that sunlight come in is a huge help. It helps me be more positive and keeps me from shutting the world out.
