I can’t understand that this is still happening. Everyone should know by now that in summer, you never leave your pets in the car, even for very short periods. Its a question of life or death!
According to the Association des médecins vétérinaires du Québec, in 2016, nearly 1/3 of its members examined or treated at least 1 dog suffering from heat stroke after being abandoned in an automobile. This represents approximately 800 dogs throughout Quebec. You know that these figures are well below reality. We all know that not all dogs suffering from heat stroke are necessarily brought to a veterinary.
Beyond the unnecessary suffering inflicted on these poor animals, it should be noted that any owner who is found guilty of such an offense is likely to receive heavy fines under the various existing laws and regulations.
If you want to know more about heat stroke symptoms, how to prevent them, or how to take care of them in an emergency, do not hesitate to consult your veterinarian!
