August 31st is grief awareness day. Grief is the most painful emotion a human being goes through.
Sarcastically enough, today is my grandmother’s funeral.
There is no true way to ever be fully prepared for hard times.
Grief is an inner process that nobody is prepared for, but we all manage to overcome. Very painful, this sharp injury that reminds us of a huge void in the place of the close person who accompanied our life.
You have the right to take all the time necessary to rebuild, heal and heal your wounds. You are an important person and you are sincerely worth it, I assure you.
We learn to live without our loved ones, without ever forgetting. Time helps us to heal the pain and remember the good times spent together to gently accept the absence of the loved one when it is too hard to bare.
“Grief is like the ocean; it comes in waves, ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim.” – Vicki Harrison
We have the right to grieve for however long we need to, even if others think we should get over it.
You have to go through it to understand what it is!
