Gender and race wage gap still exist

Let’s debunk these myths claiming the gender wage gap doesn’t exist and we don’t need to wait for #equalpayday to do so. I’ve spoken about my cousin and his wife who discovered that their employer was paying men and women differently.

Canadian women are more likely to face violence and live in poverty than men. Basic income could help to change that.

“Bring up feminism to most men the first thing they talk about is the right to hit women back. No equal pay, but their right to beat women.” – @HughJunior89

It is bothersome to me to know that this has been allowed to go on as long as it has.

Every Canadian has a meaningful role to play in promoting gender and race equality and the right of all to lead healthy lives free of gender and race discrimination. Don’t call yourself an ally if you won’t even stand up for our basic human rights.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead, Anthropologist

When businesses do well, their employees should do well, too, regardless of sexe and race. That’s just common sense.

“You know, the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common, they don’t alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views.” – Doctor Who
