We should all be able to enjoy our childhood as long as we can. We should all be entitled to come into an awareness of our sexual orientation privately and on our own terms. We should all be entitled to full autonomy over our own body. In other words, let children grow up on their own time table. Their sexual development will be much healthier for it.
So many mixed messages they’re fed, and expectations they’re bombarded with. Our children are growing up way too fast, becoming who they think we want them to be instead of finding their own way in the world.
Everyone should be free to say no without being afraid for their safety. Everyone should be free to say yes without being afraid about their reputation. That is the key to a healthy sexual development.
We should all be entitled to love someone of the opposite or same sex. No child or young person should experience the damage of feeling that being LGBT would be a misfortune or a disappointment. No child or young person shouldn’t have to feel that being gay is anything but normal.
Making someone feel ashamed of who they are is a cruel manipulation, designed to oppress and repress.
