What is “Dry January”

After the holiday’s and the numerous parties, where most of us have partaken in drinking alcoholic drinks, comes Dry January to give our livers a break. January 1st is also love your liver day in the United Kingdom.

Dry January is the annual movement through which millions of people give up alcohol for the month of January.

The idea is to have conversation around our relationship with alcohol and help us realize that we don’t need it to have a good time. Although I do enjoy alcohol, I rarely drink so avoiding alcohol for a month isn’t an issue. Technically speaking, I should never drink since many of my medication warn against drinking.
