Historical writing and facts about tea indicate this popular beverage originated in China some 5,000 years ago. It was apparently discovered in 2737 BC by Chinese Emperor Shen-Nun, who was considered a divine healer, when some tea leaves accidentally blew into a pot of boiling water. Most inventions were created by accident.
There are more than three thousand varieties of this tea bush that are grown in mountainous areas around the world. So if you haven’t discovered your favourite type of tea, keep looking, odds are that it’s out there. So today sip a cup of hot tea.
