What is apathy?
Apathy darkens life, extinguishes desires and even feelings. It is a state of mind through which demotivate and paralyzes the mind, illusions disappear and the body hurts. We lack energy, we lack the desire. We are prisoners of absolute physical and mental weakness. Initiatives and hope no longer exist.
This unbearable lethargy is a condition that presents a great impact in our lives. It skews our point of view and we become unable to focus or retain data and information. However, apathy weighs even more emotionally and emotionally. So much so that one sometimes wonders if the person does not suffer from depression.
While it is true that depression can sometimes occur with apathy, this is not always the case. We can find people who suffer from depressive disorder but not apathy and vice versa. In other words, apathy in itself is not a direct indicator of depression.
Therefore, knowing the causes and ways of managing apathy can be of great help to us.
Apathy can be a sign of a health issue such as a thyroid problem. I say this because I have personally experienced it. It can also be due to mental illness or a toxic environment that simply sucks the life out of you. If you don’t know the cause, you may want to make an appointment with your doctor and make sure it isn’t anything illness related.
One way to unearth the apathy of our mind and heart is to engage in a more creative way of life. Thus, exercises based on self-knowledge and the achievement of more motivating goals and objectives will be like windows opened on new horizons.
