Everything is 100% my fault

When my mental health is at it’s worse, I end up thinking and feeling that everything is 100% my fault. No matter what goes wrong, whether it within my control or not affects the way I see myself. Logically I understand that I can’t always prevent bad things from happening, but I still end up blaming myself for everything.

Healthy people take appropriate accountability. This is why I know that my mental illness is taking over when I start feeling this way. I recognize that I’m responsible for my choices, but I also fail to acknowledge factors beyond their control.

“One day you will wake up and all of a sudden the weight of the last few weeks, months or even years will be lifted off your shoulders. You can’t control when that day comes, all you can do is stay strong and trust that it is coming.”
