Going the distance

As much as you may be doubting it right now, you are going the distance. You are much stronger than you give yourself credit for.

When mental or physical health issues consumes your life and breaks you down. When you are in so much pain that you are nearly drowning. When you wonder how bad it will get. Know that you will get through this. Know that there will be better days. You are going the distance.

Don’t let social media convince you that you are alone in your struggles. No one has a perfect life. Everybody struggles. Some just hide theirs better. If you look at my private social media account you won’t see a quarter of my struggles. Why? Because I have family members who have a tendency of taking everything I post and make it 10,000 times worst. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this situation.

“Never forget: How far you’ve come. Everything you have gotten through. All the times you have pushed on even when you felt you couldn’t. All the mornings you got out of bed no matter how hard it was. All the times you wanted to give up but you got through another day. Never forget how much strength you have learned and developed.”

Do what you need in order to survive. Don’t answer the phone or reply to messages straight away. I do this regularly. Cancel plans, even if it’s at the last minute. Leave early from social gatherings or parties. Lie down and rest when you need to.
