I messed up

I messed up recently. I lost my brand new prescription renewing my pills. I called the doctor’s office to get a copy sent to my pharmacy only to learn that she is on vacation until the end of the month. I’m okay until then for most of my medications, but I’m already out of my pain pills. The pharmacy won’t extend the prescription as they have done for others because they are ”Opioids”. So for the next 2 weeks, I will be feeling 100% of my fibromyalgia pain. Having fibromyalgia can be challenging. Doubly so when you are off your medication.

I messed up. This is a problem of my own making. I have no clue what I did with the original prescription. We have looked everywhere for it without luck. Brain fog due to fibromyalgia is a commonly reported symptom. I suffer from it regularly, yet still expect myself to be ready for it somehow and keep my life together. Fibromyalgia patients often describe poor attention and concentration, and short-term memory loss. So technically, it’s perfectly normal to have lost a small piece of paper.

Yesterday, I was hurting so bad, I woke up dreaming that I was trying to send an email to my workplace telling them I couldn’t come in, but for some reason I couldn’t type the words. I ended up going to work because I had a big meeting I couldn’t miss. It was a challenging day.

Today, I woke up super early because of the pain. It’s already messing up with my sleep cycle.

Am I the only one to mess up like this? As something similar ever happened to you?
